Who’s your superhero December 31, 2011

Marvel comics introduced me to Spiderman, Superman, Captain America and Batman. The rest of those superheros, I couldn’t keep up because of the limited availability of the comics in my childhood. (I do admire those comic book collectors who show up in Beauty and the Geek and wouldn’t mind borrowing from them).

Then those tapes of Superman movies came out (with Christopher Reeve) and I was an instant fan! I would have loved to be Lois Lane and as a teenager dreamed of many scenarios where I was rescued and held in Superman’s arms! Hollywood is churning out many superheros movies recently, but I’ve missed out. I catch the repeat telecasts on TV on the sly whenever I become the master-of-the-remote.

DH doesn’t mind these superhero movies: Spiderman (1, 2 & 3), Fantastic Four (1) and the rest he can’t stand.

I’ve missed out at the movies: Batman (The Dark Knight), Green Lantern, Iron Man (1 & 2) , Fantastic Four, Spiderman, Harry Potter (all the parts), Hulk, X-Men, Sherlock Holmes, Tintin….

OMG!! The list just goes on. Thank heavens for Cable but it’s not the same.

The one thing we share is the dislike for Vampire movies. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is the only series that caught my attention (not DH’s) but that must have been because I was a teenager . I can’t stand Ms Meyer’s book-based movies, no offence. I guess I don’t belong to that particular audience segment.
