I turned into this weird person without weekends. I spent more time gazing into the blue glow of the computer and less on the beauty of my surroundings. I would stare in dismay at the bundle of hair falling around me, not to mention the entangled ones in the hair brush. I became a workaholic with the stress of deadlines and lengthy travel time to boot.

I needed to switch off and rejuvenate. Let’s go on a road trip…a lengthy one. I haven’t seen the attractions of N.Kerala – there are lots of differences in cuisines especially. The monsoon is an added bonus. The fasting

And thus began a long road trip which read approximately 3000km after we got back, a short vacation and the beginning of another wonderful journey – the third and youngest member of our family.

Queen Victoria Market has a lot of fresh produce. I would go there to get veggies, fruits, meat and fish – in that particular order. It’s a nice place to kill a few hours especially if you are a tourist or don’t belong to suburbia.

Michelle kept telling me to visit either the St.Kilda market or the QV Wednesday night market. If you are an Aussie or (more…)

It’s taken some time settling down in Melbourne. Every day is unpredictable. I expected the weather to be really cold but not wet like London. The first few days I kept telling myself that at least it’s not freezing.

When one’s office is supposed to be warmer inside but everyone is wrapped up and working away, what does that say. I have a beautiful view from my seat at work. The muddy Yarra River flows by, (more…)

Nandi Hills is about 60 km from where we live in Bangalore. The route lies past the new airport so the roads are good to cruise around (or past) 100 kmph even though the limit is 80. 😀

Cars were not allowed past the entry gate today (more…)

Every packaged tour to Thailand includes Pattaya and Bangkok. We took the Alcazar show in Pattaya and it was a parade of women. This is a destination for tourists from other parts of Thailand, not just international tourists. And they include both men and women. Go ahead and click on these pictures for a better view 🙂

The beach is DH’s favorite relaxing spot. He had fun at Besant Nagar Beach in Chennai. Ditto at Pattaya in Thailand. And back home in Trivandrum, every visit, he tries to go to the beach and frolic in the water.

This visit was no different. After a tiring day, freshened by a bath, he decided to head to the beach. It was 7 pm. Our niece’s summer vacation (more…)
